Intuition Zone Review: The Earth Light Guided Meditation
Thursday, March 5th, 2009As I mentioned before, I’m feeling kind of lazy - and with so many resources in the program, I honestly didn’t know where to start when it came to the meditations. The first thing I did though was upload them onto my ipod so I wouldn’t have to sit at my computer to listen to them.
First I tried listening to the Gifts of Insight meditation, but a minute or so in the audio told me to reference the Intuition Zone Guidebook. I didn’t really feel like getting up and doing that, so I tried the Inner Realm meditation, and again ran into the same problem.
At this point, I was slightly frustrated. Not by any fault of the Intuition Zone program, but because I just wanted to sit down with a meditation and not have to do any reading first. I reluctantly and skeptically started up the Earth Light meditation, and was greatly relieved when there was no mention of having to read anything first.
Now for a point of reference, according to the Intuition Zone sales letter, here is what the Earth Light meditation is supposed to accomplish:
The Earth Light meditation is a powerful and elegant visualization technique that clears and aligns your energy, heightens your spiritual connection and facilitates grounding.
It serves to cleanse and recharge your chakras and auric field, raise your vibration and open channels of higher awareness.
It is a valuable primer to any intuitive practice to enable greater clarity and receptivity, and also a valuable daily exercise for general clearing, centering and aligning. Bathe in the healing power of divine love and light!
I was also initially surprised by listening to the spoken voice of, what I believe was, an Irish woman. Being from the western United States, I’m not accustomed to meditations from people with accents. Fortunately, the accent is not strong, and the voice is welcoming, warm, and very easy to understand. All in all, I found this meditation to be clear and very easy to follow.
This is probably a good time to mention that I usually fall asleep during audio meditations. This is both because I am not fully rested already at the time of meditation, and also because I prefer to lie down when I meditate. This audio recommends sitting up, and I chose to ignore that instruction, too.
As the meditation continued, I realized it was a very familiar one. In fact, this Earth Light meditation was basically another variation on the Grounding Cord exercise which I learned at the Berkeley Psychic Institute in California a couple of years ago.
I did like some of the visualizations that this guided meditation used which differed from my previous grounding cord meditation exercises. Also my previous experience with the grounding cord guided meditation was always live, so I appreciate having a recorded version on my ipod that I can bring with me whenever I travel (or if I want to try this meditation someplace else, like in a park).
It’s now about five minutes after the meditation has completed, and here are my initial impressions - I do feel much more relaxed and grounded than I did before the meditation. In this regard, the meditation was successful.
A couple of times I nodded off, not fully asleep, but I certainly drifted beyond the alpha state and went unconscious temporarily. (Yup, time for me to get more sleep!) The voice brought me back to conscious awareness as needed, and I continued the meditation.
One small criticism I have is that in the middle of the meditation, I notice what seemed like a transition from the end of the background music to starting a new cycle of the background music. Perhaps it’s just a problem with not fading the loop effectively together, but it (pardon the pun) threw me for a loop momentarily. This wasn’t a big deal, as with meditation I’ve learned to trust and allow my experience to be whatever it is, but at the same time I would have preferred a smoother transition.
I’m not entirely sure if my chakras have been “cleansed and recharged” or if my vibration has been raised to channels of higher awareness as this meditation is supposed to do. I think I’ll have to try it a few more times before I can write in more detail the benefits of this specific guided meditation.
The program does say that this meditation can be very beneficial to do every day, and I can definitely see how the cumulative effect of this meditation could continue to bring more relaxation and grounding into my life over time.
On that note, as I continue with the Intuition Zone, one theme seems to be very apparent - it’s not like other programs where the possibility for instant gratification is there. This really is a program that needs to not only be used and experienced, but also I’m realizing I need to continue to work with it.
So with that in mind, don’t be surprised if I write another review on the Earth Light guided meditation in the future after I’ve had more experience with it. This is all just a journey, a candid one, and we’re along for the ride together.
